An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.
Bank Rossii gathered in oneshowcaseInformation about all existing unit investment funds (UIFs) available to non-qualified investors. Now any investor can compare fund parameters and choose from them the one that best meets their goals and risk appetite.
Today, the collective investment market has more than 400 such mutual funds (PIFs), which offer various investment strategies: stocks, bonds, money market instruments, real estate objects, and other assets. And their volatility also varies: from negative values up to 30% annualized. Reward systems also differ, which ultimately affects the final investment result.
The Bank of Russia’s showcase will help investors navigate this diversity. It presents all necessary information: fund type (open, closed, interval), management strategy (active, passive), 12-month yield, commission fees charged by companies for their services, discounts and premiums. The Bank of Russia, as an information source, uses only open data – from fiduciary management rules and disclosed fund reports. They will be updated monthly.
When choosing a PIF, the investor necessarily needs to look at the entire range of data, not just at a single fund that showed a good result last year, as it may not achieve it in the future.
But before making an investment decision, you should study more detailed information about the fund that the management company publishes on its website.
Market participants based on mutual fund data can develop their own analytical products that will be useful to retail investors.
Until the end of the current year, the data showcase will be published in test mode. Comments and suggestions should be sent to the address:bd_pif@cbr.ru.
