Moscow, June 11 /Xin Hua/ — China clearly demonstrates what can be achieved by putting the right to development at the forefront, and Moscow intends, together with Beijing, to further promote the development of a multifaceted dialogue in the field of human rights, said Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, at another briefing on Wednesday.
“We are convinced of the importance of full recognition, implementation, protection, and encouragement of the right to development as a means of correcting historical injustices and eliminating existing distortions in global economic development,” said M. Zagarova.
According to the diplomat, China is a clear example of how much can be achieved when the right to development becomes a priority.
M. Zagarova emphasized that Russia treats the upcoming High-Level Forum on Global Governance in the field of human rights in Beijing with special attention and intends to further promote a multilateral dialogue on human rights jointly with China.
“Cooperation between Russia and China is a stabilizing factor in the global political system, which is experiencing turbulence in international relations. This fully applies to human rights issues,” he concluded.
