M. Mishustin:Good day, dear colleagues!

Rad to welcome participants and guests of the VI International Tourism Forum. Over these years, it has become the main venue where business, experts, and representatives of friendly states meet to discuss the most pressing issues of industry development, establish business contacts, exchange experiences, best practices, and ideas.

Our President especially noted that citizens should have the widest possible opportunities for travel, visiting resorts, relaxing by the sea, getting acquainted with our capital cities and other cultural, historical centers of Russia.

The government pays special attention to supporting the tourism and hospitality sectors, for which a specialized national project is being implemented. This includes providing preferential loans for the construction of hotels, sanatoriums, and amusement parks. These are hundreds of different objects with a total investment volume of about 1.7 trillion rubles.

Thanks to the unified subsidy, infrastructure at the local level is being developed. Such funds help regions renew the appearance of historical centers, create a comfortable tourist environment, navigation, organize festivals, exhibitions, and many other events.

To make the process of registering people in a hotel simpler and more convenient, the possibility of checking in, for example, with a passport and a driver’s license was implemented.

Such decisions have allowed preserving positive growth in the tourism sector. Over the past year, its share in the country’s GDP has increased and reached 3.1%.

New facilities have opened in our region. These are modern hotels, water parks, ski resorts. As a result, there are now even more options for planning vacations, as well as selecting hotels. The number of rooms in various categories already exceeds 1 million.

People have started to choose travels within Russia more often. Last year, the number of trips exceeded 92 million. There have also been more foreign guests, including thanks to the introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of China, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and other countries.

We will continue to create favorable conditions for attracting investment. There is still much to be done.

It is important to continue improving the quality of services and offerings. And here it depends precisely on you – those who work in this sector, how interesting and comfortable people will be able to travel. This especially concerns families with children.

I am confident that the regions will demonstrate the full diversity of our unique country. The best practices and proposals for industry development will be considered so that even more tourists can get acquainted with the centuries-old history, distinctive culture, and traditions of the various peoples of Russia.

I wholeheartedly wish the forum participants productive discussions and vivid impressions.
