June 12 within the framework of the project“Summer in Moscow”and the celebration of Russia Day at the Festival Square in Sokolniki Park will be free of charge“Circus divertissements”The audience awaits the program “Circus Mystery: The Wounds of Wonders”: visitors will see a grand show featuring group jugglers, acrobats on a swinging trapeze, a horse, and equilibrist performers on a perch.

Unique show programs of the Great Moscow Circus under the direction of People’s Artists of Russia Edgar and Askold Zapashny are performed on the festival square of Sokolniki Park weekly from Thursday to Sunday. This year, the project “Circus Divertissements” was divided into two programs, each unique in its artistic composition and content. More than 130 professionals perform at the Manege — winners of international festivals and holders of achievements recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. The second program — “Lights of the Big Circus” — will take place from July 16 to September 6 and will include 15 acts with the participation of 70 artists.
Last year, more than 143 thousand people visited the circus tents. Performances could be seen in the “Moskino” cinema park, Izmailovsky Park, and the “Yuzhnoye Butovo” landscape park. In addition, artists of the Bolshoi Moscow Circus on Vernadsky Avenue and participants of the World Circus Arts Festival “Idol” performed as part of the gala show “Five Circuses — One Arena.” Guests saw acts by world-famous performers, including acrobat Sofia Rolao (Portugal), the strength duo Duo Medel (Mexico), as well as Russian artists Maria Bakalkina, Semen Krachinov, and others.More than a thousand professionals of various specialties participated in the work on organizing the performances — from directors and actors to technical staff and organizers.
