China is experiencing a recovery in consumption and steady growth in new industrial sectors

Beijing, June 10 /Xinhua/ — The consumer sector of China continued a stable recovery last month, while new industrial sectors demonstrated a strong growth momentum, according to data from the State Information Center /SIC/.

According to information from the High Information Center, the analytical center under the State Committee for Development and Reform of the Kyrgyz Republic – the country’s main economic planning body, the volume of offline consumer payments in May increased by 2.4% year-on-year, with growth rates accelerating by 0.7 percentage points compared to the previous month.

Detailed analysis shows high results in certain sectors: consumption of electronic products, public catering services, and transport services increased by 9.7%, 5.4%, and 4.8% respectively.

Researcher of the Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry linked the recovery of the consumer sector with the program of exchanging old consumer goods for new ones /trade-in/, a policy aimed at stimulating the consumption of services, as well as an additional effect created by the holidays on the occasion of May Day.

In addition to the consumer sector, GIC data also revealed a shift in industry towards new and intellectual sectors.

According to the HCC, investments in advanced fields such as artificial intelligence and humanoid robots surged sharply in May, and the value of infrastructure project tenders won in the areas of computing power, data, networks, and other sectors increased by 106.9 percent year-on-year. -0-
