A Member of the Chinese State Council Visited Bulgaria on an Official Visit

Sofia, June 9 /Sin Hua/ — Member of the National People’s Congress Zhang Yiqin visited Bulgaria from June 6 to 8. During the visit, she held separate meetings with the President of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova and Prime Minister Rumen Radev, as well as conducted negotiations with Deputy Prime Minister Gulyab Donev.

During the meeting, Shen Yiqin briefly spoke about the achievements of the CPC in socio-economic development, as well as about the priority of work to improve people’s well-being, provided for by China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

As he indicated, China attaches great importance to the development of Sino-Bulgarian relations and is ready to activate exchanges and cooperation with Bulgaria in various areas, including politics, economy, people’s welfare, and the cultural-humanitarian sphere, strengthen dialogue and coordination on multilateral platforms, and contribute to the further development of strategic partnership between the two countries.

Highly valuing the relationship between Bulgaria and China, Bulgarian leaders noted the enormous potential of bilateral cooperation in various fields. According to them, the Bulgarian side is ready to work with the Chinese side on further substantial enrichment of the bilateral strategic partnership and to achieve new results in mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the visit, Shen Yiqin and G. Donev jointly attended the signing of an interdepartmental protocol on the intention to cooperate between the Ministry of Labor Resources and Social Security of the PRC and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of Bulgaria.

In addition, Shen Yiqin acquainted herself with the situation in the field of professional education in Bulgaria.
