Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the Governor of Perm Krai, Dmitry Makhonin. They discussed the development of projects in the fields of education, tourism, sports, and youth work in the region.
“The beginning of June is the traditional time for the start of vacations, exams, the summer health campaign, the active tourist season, as well as the continuation of preparations for the admission campaign. Creating conditions for quality recreation and education in the Perm region is aided by the implementation of national projects “Tourism and Hospitality” and “Youth and Children.” For example, the interuniversity campus “Future of Parma” is being built, and programs “Zemsky Teacher” and “Priority-2030″ are operating,” noted Dmitry Chernishenko.
Dmitry Malonin said that in the Prikamye region, schoolchildren are helped to decide on their future profession. For this, nearly 400 specialized classes in various specialties operate in the region. In addition, 14 clusters have been created within the framework of the federal project “Professionalism” – in terms of quantity, Perm Krai ranks ninth in the country. At Perm Polytechnic and Classical University, engineering schools operate where specialists for local enterprises are trained.
At the end of May, the last calls took place across the country, and the graduation parties will be held on June 27. This year, the university admission campaign will start on June 19–20.
Summer wellness programs have started: 40 camps have already opened their sessions. In total, over the summer, more than 300,000 children are planned to participate in various forms of recreation and activities, of which 105,000 will be subsidized with budget support. Special attention is given to children from the supported Severodonetsk — the first session for 180 kids has already ended, and altogether 390 children will attend over the summer. Also, two universities in Perm will host 300 children from the DPR and LPR.
Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the active work of the Perm Krai in the field of youth policy. Thus, in 2025 Perm was the youth capital of Russia. The city became a platform for holding more than 100 major flagship federal and regional youth events. More than 1.6 million people were involved. In addition, volunteering is developing in the region, and #WeAreTogether headquarters are operating.
In addition, there are 12 centers operating for youth in the region, with 3 more to open by the end of the year. As Dmitry Mazonin noted, young people have a demand for places where they can spend time interestingly and develop their talents, and the new centers will become a true creative home for them.
In the Perm region, sports are actively developing: more than 60% of residents regularly engage in them. The region operates 700 sports facilities, and by 2030 it plans to build more than 30 additional year-round complexes.
The parties discussed the region’s readiness for the start of the tourist season. Last year, 1.45 million tourist trips were made to the region. In 2026, 1.6 million are expected.
Thanks to the national project “Tourism and Hospitality,” two cities will receive subsidies for the development of tourist centers. In Chusovoy, a navigation system will appear, and in Cherdyn, the uniqueness of the city will be told through historical facts. Previously, such centers have already appeared in Perm, Solikamsk, Kungur, and Kudymkar.
In 2026, it is planned to support at least four projects for the creation of campgrounds and modular hotels. A road will be built to the all-season resort “Gubakha” and a new four-star hotel will be opened in Perm. It will be able to accommodate up to 27,200 tourists per year.
From June 10 to 14, the VI International Tourist Forum “Travel!” will take place at VDNH in Moscow. Perm Krai will present an interactive stand “Multifaceted Krai” there. It will showcase the region as a unified tourist ecosystem with a rich selection of directions. The stand is divided into three thematic blocks: cultural and educational, industrial, and active tourism.
