Beijing, June 8 /Xinhua/ — An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 occurred at 07:37 Monday Beijing time in the area of the Philippine archipelago, the Chinese Seismological Network Center reported.
The epicenter of the underground tremors was located at the coordinates 5.55 degrees north latitude and 125.1 degrees east longitude, with the hypocenter lying at a depth of 40 km.
