Within the framework of the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Rosneft concluded a trilateral cooperation agreement in the field of personnel training with Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and the University of MGUPPI in Shenzhen (China).
The document was signed by the CEO of PJSC “NK Rosneft” Igor Sechin, the rector of MSU Viktor Sadovnichiy, and the rector of the MSU-PPU University in Shenzhen Li Hezhan.
The agreement provides for the training of Rosneft employees under a joint program of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the MSU-PPU University in Shenzhen in the following areas: improving operational efficiency, logistics, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and new technologies in the oil and gas sector.
In 2026–2027, the agreement declared a Cross Years of Cooperation in the field of education by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping has special strategic significance. The partnership not only strengthens bilateral educational ties but also corresponds to the priorities of the initiatives, contributing to the training of highly qualified personnel in demand in the context of deepening interaction between the two countries.

MGUHas been a key university partner of Rosneft since 2006. Among the main areas of cooperation are training and retraining of personnel and research activities. Based on the Department of Geology and Geochemistry of Fossil Fuels of the Moscow State University’s Geological Faculty, the Rosneft Scientific and Educational Center for digital technologies in the oil and gas industry was established, where the specialized master’s program “Digitalization in the Field of Geology of Fossil Fuels” is implemented.At the Biological Faculty of MSU, a corporate master’s program “Genomics and Human Health” has been created, which trains highly qualified specialists in the field of genetic technologies. In addition, at MSU named after M. V. Lomonosov, a professional retraining program “Improving Production Efficiency” is being implemented for employees of the Company’s Oil and Gas Development and Offshore Business Unit. The Company participates in the implementation of innovative educational projects of the University Gymnasium, on the basis of which lectures are delivered for students of the “Rosneft Classes.”
To attract young specialists to the Company’s enterprise, Rosneft annually conducts career guidance events for MSU students and organizes industrial internships.
MGU-PPI University in ShenzhenCreated in 2017 by Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Beijing Polytechnic Institute, and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government.
The university trains young specialists in China, who are necessary for the implementation of economic projects of two countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Training is conducted in Russian, Chinese, and English according to the educational standards of MSU by the teaching staff of leading world universities and research centers.
