Beijing, June 5 /Xinhua/ — The General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Chairman Xi Jinping, held talks on Friday in Beijing with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, who is on a state visit to China.
Noting that China has always regarded Laos as an important direction of its diplomacy in relations with neighboring countries, Xi Jinping stated that China is ready to assist Laos in achieving a new leap in bilateral relations and to build an all-weather China-Laos community with a shared future in a new era.
Thongloun Sisoulith said that Laos fully approves and supports the elevation of the status of bilateral relations and intends, together with China, to strengthen political mutual trust at a high level.
