Beirut, June 4 /Xin Hua/ — A UN peacekeeper died on Thursday morning from wounds sustained during a mortar shelling of his position in southeastern Lebanon that occurred the previous night. This was reported by the UN Interim Forces in Lebanon /UNIFIL/.

Two more peacekeepers were injured as a result of the incident and are undergoing treatment at a medical facility based at the UN mission, the statement says.
