Bulairest, June 4 /Xinhua/ — Ruminian President Nikushor Dan on Thursday put forward the candidacy of his adviser Eugene Tomak for the post of prime minister of the country.
According to the Constitution of Romania, E. Tomac, a member of the European Parliament and leader of a party not represented in the Romanian parliament, will have 10 days to form a government and obtain a vote of confidence from the legislators.
His candidacy was put forward after the parliament passed a vote of no confidence in early May against the government of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, which forced I. Bolojan and his cabinet to resign.
“Since the parties cannot agree with each other, the only possible solution is a prime minister independent of the parties represented in parliament,” explained N. Dan, adding that E. Tomak is a person with political experience in conducting consultations with each of the parliamentary parties, and that “an inevitable consensus” exists.
