Products from Russia and other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) account for 80 percent of the goods that the capital’s customers purchase onsupplier portal. This was reported by the head of the Moscow City Department for Competition PolicyKirill Purtovat the panel session “Competitive Environment and Sustainability in Internet Commerce for SMEs” within the framework of the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The “Supplier Portal” provides entrepreneurs across the country, primarily small and medium-sized businesses, with the opportunity to enter into contracts with government customers and scale their operations. The resource significantly lowers the entry threshold for public procurement. Among its advantages are fully electronic document management, procurement analytics for suppliers, no usage fees, convenient additional services that facilitate training and further work. Products from Russia and other EAEU countries account for 80 percent of the goods purchased by Moscow on the portal.”Among the categories of leaders are construction goods, household goods and appliances, IT goods and communication devices, medical goods, including medicines and disposable materials, energy equipment, and fuel and lubricants,” said Kirill Purtov.

The panel session was dedicated to key measures of state support and legislative initiatives aimed at creating a more balanced and transparent environment in relations between sellers and marketplaces.

Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Rosakkreditatsiya, Roskachestvo, the Association of Platform Economy Entrepreneurs, the platforms “Avito Travel”, “Ozon”, as well as other experts, took part in it.

Supplier portalwas created in 2013 for the automation of small volume purchases and has established itself as an effective tool that ensures interaction between government customers and businesses. More than 400 thousand entrepreneurs and over 60 thousand customers work here. More than 90 percent of suppliers are representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.

To offer goods, works, and services on the portal, it is not necessary to have the status of a legal entity. Such an opportunity is also available to individuals. To start working, you only need to obtain an electronic signature and go through a short registration procedure. More than 1,500 contracts are concluded on the platform daily, and its catalog contains more than 3.5 million unique items.
