In 2026 in the capitalspecialists of Moscow’s urban economy complexReplacing more than 5,500 elevators under the capital repair program. At the same time, more than 1,800 lifts in over 450 residential buildings will be installed with the expansion of door openings.
Timely replacement of lifting equipment is the key to the comfort and safety of residents. According to the capital’s standard, after 25 years, elevators must be replaced.
Elevator door openings are expanded where the building’s construction allows it. If before the renovation the size of the passenger elevator doors was 650 millimeters, after the work it will increase to 700 millimeters. This innovation significantly improves elevator accessibility for people with limited mobility and parents with strollers.
The installation of new elevators with extended door openings in buildings where this is possible is a priority task for the Moscow Capital Repair Fund. These elevators are comfortable and also more convenient to use.
Starting from 2026, all elevators supplied by the Karacharovsky mechanical plant and the Shcherbinsky elevator construction plant for replacement within the framework of the major repair program will be equipped with modern monitors. On them, it will be possible to play video clips with and without sound, as well as display informational and advertising banners.
