Vladivostok, June 3 /Xin Hua/ — Artificial intelligence /AI/ and robotics are becoming one of the key driving forces of global technological development, meanwhile China intends to further promote the principles of open cooperation and universal inclusiveness in achieving scientific and technological progress. This is stated in an article by the Consul General of the PRC in Khabarovsk, Cizyan Syaoyan, published today in the Russian edition “Moskovsky Komsomolets. Khabarovsk.”
According to the Chinese diplomat, a new wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating the implementation of AI technologies in various spheres of life: from industry and medicine to transportation and the service sector. In 2023, Chairman Xi Jinping of the CPC proposed an initiative on global governance of artificial intelligence, proclaiming the principle of human-centeredness and orientation towards the common good, which set moral guidelines for the development of AI in the world and demonstrated China’s strategic vision in advancing technological progress and serving the development of humanity.
As noted by Ceyan Syaoyan, China consistently adheres to a high ideal of using AI for the benefit of humanity and actively participates in the formation of international rules in the field of AI and robotics, having already developed 229 national and sectoral standards aimed at improving the safety, reliability, and manageability of intelligent systems.
The consulate general indicated that in recent years China has become the world’s largest manufacturer of robots, holding about two-thirds of global patents in this field and more than 500 specialized innovative companies.
The Chinese robotics industry is not only a new business card for China’s “intelligent” manufacturing, but also a new driver of the global joint use of scientific and technological achievements, he noted.
Speaking about international cooperation, Zhan Xiaoyan emphasized that China strives to share technological achievements with other countries and to help reduce the digital divide between nations.
“China consistently attaches great importance to scientific and technological cooperation with all countries, including Russia. China and Russia possess complementary advantages in the fields of AI and robotics,” he said.
Among these advantages, the Chinese diplomat named the rich experience in the production of finished products, integration of production chains and expansion of application scenarios on the Chinese side, and the deep potential of Russia in fundamental research, including basic algorithms, mathematical modeling, and control systems.
“China is ready to deepen complementary cooperation with Russia, promote the localization of robotics applications in the trade-economic, humanitarian, and agrarian spheres, strengthen regional development through scientific and technological interaction, and reinforce mutual understanding between peoples through the exchange of technologies, jointly creating a more just, inclusive, sustainable, and intellectual era,” concluded Xie Xiaoyan. –0–
