Beijing, June 2 /Xin Hua/ — Chinese airlines will reduce additional fuel surcharges on domestic flights when selling tickets from June 5, Air China and other airlines reported on Tuesday.

The additional fuel surcharge will be reduced to 80 yuan / about $11.73 USD / for each segment on a route with a length of 800 km or less, and up to 150 yuan for longer routes.

Infants are exempt from additional screening, while children, military personnel, and police officers who have become disabled will receive a 50 percent discount.

Compared to the current rates, the additional fuel charge will be reduced by 10 yuan for routes up to 800 km in length or less, and by 20 yuan for longer routes. -0-
