An excursion “Avant-Garde on Shabolovka” will take place in the “Na Shabolovke” gallery.
Shabolovka is rich in historical landmarks, cozy courtyards, and street cafes that create the atmosphere of old Moscow.
Participants will see the Shukhov Tower from an unusual angle, the communal house on Lesteva Street, the residential complex “Gates of the Commune,” the Khovsko-Shabolovsky residential area (an example of original quarter development). Visitors will get acquainted with masterpieces of constructivism and rationalism, experiments of the 1920s–1930s, and will also be able to feel the atmosphere of an era when art, technology, and social utopias intertwined in architecture. In addition, participants will learn about the history of the district, its residents, and legends associated with this place.
