Minsk, June 1 /Xin Hua/ — Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Yuri Shuleiko held a meeting on Monday in Minsk with the Minister of Foreign Economic Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Yun Jong Ho. The corresponding information was published by the press service of the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
Representatives of the industry bodies of government administration of Belarus and the PRC participated in the bilateral negotiations. The fulfillment of agreements reached following the results of the visit of the President of Belarus to the PRC in March 2026 was discussed. The parties declared their readiness to work on expanding the volume and range of bilateral interaction in the field of food security, healthcare, and other areas of cooperation.
Y. Shuleiko emphasized Belarus’s openness to any initiatives from the North Korean side, which are considered and implemented within the bounds of the real possibilities and international obligations of the two states. It was also noted the importance of the current visit of the DPRK delegation and its participation in the internationally specialized exhibition “Belagro-2026” for a more comprehensive acquaintance with the economic potential of Belarus.
The parties also expressed readiness to expedite the preparation for the 4th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, as well as for the exchange of visits by sectoral delegations.
