Tbilisi, May 31 /Xinhua/ — The final of the national stage of the 19th World Chinese Language Bridge Contest among high school students was held on Sunday in the Georgian capital.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Dai Chunyu, advisor of the PRC embassy in Georgia, stated that in recent years humanitarian exchanges between China and Georgia have become closer, creating unprecedentedly favorable conditions for Georgian schoolchildren studying the Chinese language.
According to him, the “Bridge of the Chinese Language” contest allows Georgian schoolchildren to deepen their acquaintance with the ancient history and rich culture of China, and also gives the Chinese people an opportunity to see the talents of Georgian youth. Dai Chunyun noted that every small step the contest participants make in studying the Chinese language will become a big step in the development of friendship between the two countries in the future.
The final took place under the motto “Take off on the wings of the Chinese language.” Based on the written exam, thematic presentation, quiz, and demonstration of creative abilities, A. Perlculiani took first place among 17 finalists with a total score of 90.22 points. –0–
