Tehran, May 29 /Xinhua/ — A source close to the Iranian negotiating team denied reports of full readiness of the proposed memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington. This was reported by the Tasnim agency on Thursday.
As the source emphasized, reports that the text is simply awaiting official announcement by both parties “do not correspond to the facts.” The document “has not yet been finalized,” he added.
According to the source, Iran did not officially inform Pakistani intermediaries that the text is ready.
The interlocutor of the Tasnim agency emphasized that in the event of the final approval of the text, Tehran will officially notify the Pakistani mediators and publicly announce it. Until then, any Western messages about the readiness of the text “do not deserve trust,” the source added.
Earlier on Thursday, the American portal Axios reported that American and Iranian negotiators agreed on a memorandum to extend the ceasefire for 60 days and to start negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear program.
