EAEU Countries Adopt Joint Statement on Responsible AI Development

Almaty, May 29 /Xin Hua/ — Following the results of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the leaders of the EAEU member countries signed a joint statement on the responsible development of artificial intelligence. This was reported on Friday by the Kazinform agency.

According to the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the speed of adaptation to new technological challenges directly depends on the long-term stability of the national economy and its place in the future world order.

Mutual integration of information systems within the framework of the Union is a requirement of the times. In this regard, the work of the Eurasian Economic Commission on creating a digital storefront of national services is extremely relevant, the president noted. He proposed to accelerate these processes and ensure the formation of a full-fledged ecosystem of the Union’s central transport corridors, which will allow creating a high-tech transport hub of Eurasia.

Following the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in an expanded format in Astana, the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union also signed a number of documents concerning amendments to the EAEU treaty, support for cooperation projects in the agro-industrial complex, and customs regulation.

The meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held under the chairmanship of the head of state of Kazakhstan K.-Zh. Tokayev. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan, as well as the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the meeting.

The next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held in December 2026 in Saint Petersburg. –0–
