Bishkek, May 28 /Xinhua/ — The Forum on Cooperation between Mass Media of China and Kyrgyzstan was held on Wednesday in Bishkek. About 100 people from both sides participated, including representatives of the media, heads of departments, experts, scientists, and businessmen, who deeply discussed the development of the economy and trade, humanitarian exchanges, and media cooperation.

As noted by forum participants, the content of Chinese-Kyrgyz relations is steadily enriched and deepened into a new era. The media of both countries must demonstrate a sense of responsibility, unite common values and the joint aspiration of the two peoples for a wonderful life, working together to actively tell stories about good neighborliness, friendship, and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan.

Forum participants indicated that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Adhering to the “Shanghai Spirit,” characterized by mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, mutual consultations, respect for cultural diversity, and the aspiration for joint development, the SCO supports the trend of rapid growth. The SCO member states’ media should fully utilize their role as a bridge and connecting link, develop the “Shanghai Spirit,” strengthen pragmatic cooperation, promote the rapprochement of peoples, and contribute to building a better SCO home.

The forum was jointly organized by the Chinese newspaper “Renmin Ribao” and the information-publishing house “Kyrgyz Tuusu.” It featured speeches with reports and a round table. Documents on cooperation between the media of China and Kyrgyzstan were signed. –0–
