Financial News: The Bank of Russia has entered into a currency swap agreement with the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The Bank of Russia and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan have concluded an agreement on swaps in national currencies. The agreement allows each party to obtain access to short-term liquidity in the currency of the other party to facilitate the performance of central banks’ tasks. The swap line volume amounts to 35 billion rubles (225 billion Kazakhstani tenge). The agreement is concluded for a period of 3 years. Within the framework of the agreement, the term of one transaction may not exceed 1 year, market interest rates are used.

The conclusion of the agreement on cooperation is an important step for the further development of interaction between the Bank of Russia and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
