China will continue to uphold justice regarding Cuba — Head of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

New York, May 28 /Xinhua/ — China will continue to defend justice in relation to Cuba, support the just cause of the Cuban people, and promote the development of the country’s economy. This was stated on Wednesday by a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, during a meeting with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

Van Ee noted that the topic of the Security Council meeting at a high level reflects the general expectations of all parties and has elicited a broad response and support. According to the Chinese minister, achieving this goal requires defending the respect for sovereignty and independence of all countries and opposing all forms of power politics and intimidation.

In turn, B. Rodriguez stated that Cuba values the firm support provided by China in the matter of defending its sovereignty and security. China’s assistance demonstrates a special friendship between the two peoples, he added.

As indicated by the Cuban diplomat, Cuba will continue to support China’s just position on issues concerning Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong, and intends to strengthen strategic ties and coordination with China to promote the socialist cause of the two countries and to uphold international justice.
