Bishkek, May 27 /Xinhua/ — The international festival of artistic readings of Chinese poetry “Poetry Unites the World” concluded in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. The works of Chinese poets were proclaimed by 100 lovers of the Chinese language.

About 1,000 people participated in the recitation at all stages of the festival, including local sinologists, Chinese language teachers, and students of primary, secondary, and higher educational institutions. Through thematic lectures, recitations with numerous scenes, and collective recitations, the historical and cultural connections of Kyrgyzstan with the great Chinese poet of the Tang dynasty era (618-907 AD), Li Bo, were revealed, and the results of cultural exchanges between the two countries were presented in a beautiful audiovisual form.

Artistic reading of Chinese poetry took place outside the traditional stage performances and was held on campus, against the backdrop of natural landscapes, at workplaces, and on city streets. The reciters organically intertwined classical Chinese poetry into everyday life, revealing the unique charm of this genre of Chinese literature. Video recordings of the events will be permanently available on the online platform.

As part of the International Festival and Art Reading of Chinese Poetry “Poems that Unite the World,” which opened in Kyrgyzstan on April 17, events such as thematic lectures, recitations-showcases, and cultural salons were organized. More than 3000 people participated in them.
