Beijing, May 27 /Xinhua/ — After the recent successful launch of the piloted spacecraft “Shenzhou-23” to the Chinese orbital station “Tiangong,” the first cosmonaut from Xi’an arrived, which became a brilliant result of the political course “one country, two systems.” This was announced on Wednesday by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC Mao Ning.
The publication by CMI notes that resident of Xiangyang Li Qiyin entered history as the first member of the fourth group of Chinese astronauts to travel into space, the first astronaut from the Special Administrative Region of Xiangyang, and the first woman to join China’s piloted spaceflight program as a payload specialist.
As noted by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this is not only another page in the history of China’s manned spaceflight but also a common triumph for all Xiangyang compatriots, as well as a brilliant result of the political course “one country, two systems,” demonstrating the enormous vitality and clear advantages of this policy.
Sian is rapidly advancing the construction of an international innovation center, Mao Ning stated, expressing hope that the current space mission will attract even more young representatives from Sian to contribute to the country’s scientific and technological development.
