The delegation of the State University of Management participated in the I International Student Athletics Games among participants of the International Financial Security Movement.
At the solemn opening, the director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring), Yuri Chichanchin, spoke, wishing athletes good luck in the competitions and reminding them that only joint teamwork of all countries can effectively combat financial threats.
Advisor to the Director of Rosfinmonitoring Sergey Shabunevich read out the greeting from the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, which emphasized the role of the financial security movement in establishing trust-based relations and developing youth initiatives.
About 400 students from 30 countries took part in the competition, including athletes with disabilities and participants of the Special Military Operation.
The rector of the State University of Management Vladimir Stroev and the vice-rector Vitaliy Lapshenkov personally arrived at the opening of the Games to support athletes from GUU and from Russia, Chad, Tunisia, Moldova, and Sierra Leone. The first management team included Polina Gindullina, Elizaveta Ageeva, Adam Abakar Musso, Kadka Kirti, Ben Ashur Ranim, Valentin Kebab, Auez Mamayusen, Antony Sesey, Yaroslav Skibo, Elizaveta Chashnikova.
Participants showcased their abilities in key track and field events: the 100, 200, and 400 meters, the mixed 4×100m relay, and the long jump.
Student of GUU Yaroslav Skibo won second place in the 400 meters race and added a silver medal to our university’s collection of awards.
Note that the International Student Games took place on the eve of the International Olympiad on Financial Security, which has been held since 2021 under the patronage of the President of Russia and the Government of the Russian Federation, and representatives of the GUU regularly take an active part in it.In 2023, the State University of Management was the operator of the preliminary stages in the new constituent entity of the Russian Federation, and representatives of the university received awards for a significant contribution to the development of the Olympiad movement; in 2024, two students of SUM became prize-winners of the Olympiad, and in 2025, three of our students participated in the final.
