Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev spoke at the plenary session of the III All-Russian Forum of Rural Workers. The event was held by the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko. Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut delivered a report on the comprehensive development of rural territories.

Valentina Matvienko emphasized that thanks to the decisions of the head of state, Russian villages are receiving new opportunities, resources, and a new quality of life.

“The President has repeatedly supported the proposals voiced at our forum, including the launch of the ‘Rural Cultural Worker’ program, laws on rural tourism, and support for the implementation of farm products,” said Valentina Matviyenko.

The Chairman of the Federation Council noted that such a format of meetings with rural social workers allows exchanging experiences and formulating federal-scale in-demand initiatives.

Dmitry Patrushev reported that work on the development of rural areas has been carried out for the seventh year under a single state program of the Ministry of Agriculture. The party “United Russia” provides significant support to the Government here. In dialogue with the public, it initiates many events and also annually votes for the allocation of substantial funds for these purposes.

“Almost half a trillion rubles have been directed towards the development of rural areas over the past period. Thanks to this, more than 6 thousand infrastructure facilities have been built: polyclinics, schools, kindergartens, roads, cultural centers, sports centers. Over 11 million square meters of housing have appeared, and new homes have been acquired by 200 thousand families. If we take into account the projects of the current year, then with various government program activities, the coverage will already reach 20 million people. Rural areas are gradually, but increasingly noticeably, being transformed. This work will definitely continue,” said Dmitry Patrushev.

The Deputy Prime Minister separately addressed the issue of supporting enterprises located in rural areas. Starting this year, the stimulating measures have been united into a new federal project “Development of small agribusiness.” About 15 billion rubles are planned for its implementation. Instruments are also provided for improving the energy efficiency of enterprises, increasing the sales of farm products, creating and modernizing rural bakeries.

Dmitry Patrushev recalled that targeted support in the form of various grants has been awarded for a long time, including grants for participants and veterans of the special military operation, as well as for the development of agritourism.

At the end of the speech, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the residents of rural areas for their daily work and care for the country.
