Yerevan, May 24 /Xin Hua/ — Armenia has gained access to transit transportation via the railroad Alkalaki /Georgia/ — Kars /Turkey/. This was reported on Sunday on social networks by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan.

“Glad to report that the railway Alkalaki — Kars, as well as the Azerbaijani railway, is now open for export from Armenia and import to Armenia. This is a great event in the economic life of our country. Thanks to our partners from Turkey and Georgia,” noted the Armenian prime minister.

N. Pashinyan stated that Armenia already has a railway connection with Russia through the territory of Georgia and Azerbaijan, and further, through the territory of Russia and Kazakhstan, with China. According to him, now through the territory of Georgia and Turkey, Armenia will gain access to the European Union market.

“In the near future, it is planned to open the Armenia-Turkey, Armenia-Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia-Iran railways through Nakhichevan. Witnesses to these events will become in the near future,” wrote N. Pashinyan. –0–
