A. Overchuk:At the concluded meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States, traditional issues of interaction in the trade and economic sphere were considered. The heads of government checked the time and exchanged opinions.
A report on the joint work of our countries in the field of creating a joint geospatial data portal was also presented to the heads of governments. Essentially, this is a very good modern digital basis for establishing interaction in the fields of geodesy, cartography, and the use of Earth remote sensing data, for the widest possible range of applications. These include registration of property rights, tourism, and spatial development of territories. The most important topic. And today, the results were reported to the heads of governments.
Of course, digital transformation traditionally has attracted a lot of attention recently. And here, the issues of coordination and joint development in the field of the use of digital technologies are very important.
Special attention at this meeting was given to the issues of digital transformation of the mining and metallurgical complex, which is fundamental for the development of economies, to strengthen the sovereignty of the economies of the CIS countries’ participants.
Besides this, the most important topic that has developed here concerns the linkage of transport arteries of our countries. This topic today has particular significance in connection with the reduction in the level of safety in the use of sea routes. More attention is being paid to the creation of interlinked transport and logistics corridors. And it is very symbolic that this issue was discussed precisely in Turkmenistan, during Turkmenistan’s chairmanship. Here one of the Eurasian crossroads is located, where the route “East – West” intersects with the international transport corridor “North – South”, its eastern route. The topic is very important in modern conditions.
The humanitarian agenda was also discussed. And the city of Minsk was chosen as the next youth capital of the CIS countries.
Issues of organizational nature were also resolved.
The tradition is a very warm, very friendly meeting. And of course, it would be especially appropriate to highlight Turkmenistan as the country where all this took place, and to thank for the hospitality.
