Kabul, May 22 /Sina wa/ — At least 10 people, including women and children, died as a result of sudden floods that collapsed overnight in several districts of Baghlan province in northern Afghanistan. This was reported on Friday by the local media Tolo news.
Heavy rains destroyed more than 100 residential houses and flooded thousands of hectares of agricultural land, causing serious damage to the already fragile rural economy of the province, the media reported, citing the head of the provincial disaster management department, Hedayatullah Hamdard.
On Wednesday evening, severe hurricanes struck the southern province of Kandahar, resulting in the death of three people and injuring six others.
