During the 22nd China International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF), held from May 21 to 25, 2026, in the pavilion “Global Cultural Trade,” the general director of the Uzbek company Silk Link Global, Asilbek Khonsuzhaev (Li Chenyan), shared with a correspondent from China.org.cn his impressions and told interesting stories about the company’s participation in the exhibition over the past several years.
My name is Asilbek, I am from Uzbekistan. It’s a cultural exhibition of Shenzhen. It turns out we have been here several times already, more than four times. And we are claiming and participating in this expo. And, of course, we are very happy to come here every year. And, of course, the event is very good. We like coming here. We like all the organizational details, the moments of how they organize this entire event. Overall, we like it.
We mainly specialize in handmade products from Uzbekistan. The most demanded products are, of course, our famous carpets. There are some types of carpets, some types of our suzani, and, of course, ceramics, the most famous being Rishtan ceramics.
The impressions are very big, very good, because the exhibition itself is very global. Here you can see many foreign buyers, you can see many local buyers who mostly live in Shenzhen. And all this as a whole gives us a huge, very good impression in terms of globalization, internationalization, and overall development of our business.
But I think one of the interesting stories is that every year when we participate in Expo, we receive many offers from our visitors, buyers. And there were several proposals regarding the products. The most interesting thing was that we had tea, we are talking about a piala in the Uzbek language. A piala is like a bowl in which you can drink water or tea. Yes, they tell us that it is very large, while there we eat rice (mifon). And I say, “No, we drink tea in this.” And so it happened that this year we brought very small cups, which I can even show you now. As you can see, [from here] you can also drink tea.But in the first year when we arrived, they were much bigger.
That is, the story consists in the fact that we try to please our customers and, of course, see that our visitors and buyers find it interesting, and we try to communicate with them. And this, I think, is the most interesting part of the whole process.
