On May 12, the first integrated demonstration project “Sun-accumulation-charging-replacement” for heavy trucks in the energy group of Inner Mongolia entered the trial operation stage for the new energy source.

The project is located in the Chjunnar-Tsi desert of Ordos city, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Construction of the project began on March 3, 2026, and after 70 days the project was put into trial operation.

At the first stage of the project, 24 powerful DC charging devices with a total capacity of 11,520 kW have been installed, which daily can provide charging for up to 300 heavy trucks at the new energy source.

The project plan includes the construction of 96 ultra-fast charging spots for tractor units and two battery replacement stations for tractor units. In addition to charging and battery replacement, a full range of related services is also provided here: parking, repair, power supply, and accommodation, which allows drivers on the road to resolve all issues in one place.

It is expected that the project will be officially put into operation by the end of May this year and will provide reliable energy support for the ecological modernization of local transport and the low-carbon transformation of the energy sector.
