Beijing, May 19 /Xinhua/ — In the first four months of 2026, there was a significant growth in the sales volume of Chinese enterprises, with particularly strong growth noted among enterprises engaged in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). This is evidenced by data published on Tuesday by the General State Taxation Administration of the PRC.

According to data, in January-April, the total sales volumes of special electronic materials and integrated circuits directly related to the production and application of AI increased by 70% and 54.4% in annual terms, respectively.

The volume of sales of intellectual onboard equipment and robotics related to artificial intelligence terminal applications grew by 50.7% and 27.5% in annual terms, respectively.

According to the data, the volume of sales in the high-tech manufacturing sector grew by 14.9 percent annually and amounted to 18.1 percent of the total indicator in the manufacturing industry sector.

Thanks to the political measures taken by China aimed at stimulating consumption, the consumer services market remained dynamic during the first four months of the current year.

At the same time, sales volumes from tourist agencies and in the fields of culture, sports, and entertainment industries showed ambiguous growth. The volume of sales of catering services, as well as guest house services, increased by 7.7% and 14.1%, respectively.

The director of the Scientific Research Institute of Taxation under the Main State Tax Directorate, Huan Lisin, said that the invoice data indicate that the trend towards economic recovery and improvement has been steadily strengthening since the beginning of 2026, and the improving growth rates and high-quality development demonstrate the resilience and dynamism of the country’s economy. -0-
