On May 13, the MOEX AI Hackathon started — a hackathon for creating an AI agent for stock trading.
The hackathon is held online and unites students of IT specialties, ML and DS engineers, backend developers, as well as specialists in the field of algorithmic trading.
Registration was completed by 340 teams and more than 1,300 participants. Team applications were evaluated from the perspective of elaboration, uniqueness of the idea, and potential for implementation. Based on the competition results, the jury selected 50 teams who will compete in the creation of an AI agent.
Next, the teams will need to develop an AI agent for trading on the exchange, capable of making decisions and demonstrating maximum efficiency under conditions close to the real market. The total trading turnover of each agent must exceed 10 million rubles.
Participants will gain access to the sandbox infrastructure and will be able to test their algorithms in real-time mode. Each team will be able to use processed professional exchange data from the Moscow Exchange on the analytical service AlgoPack.
The team rating will be displayed in real time on the Arena Go chart — a platform that allows you to observe how trading algorithms behave under conditions as close as possible to the real market.
The results of the hackathon will be announced at the end of June. The winner will be the team that creates the most successful algorithm for autonomous trading.
The total prize fund will be 1 million rubles: the team that takes first place will receive 500 thousand rubles, the second — 300 thousand rubles, the third — 200 thousand rubles. Several independent parties are immediately responsible for the legitimacy of the contest results. The organizer is the Phystech Genesis team, specializing in hackathons for large companies and IT teams. The competitions will be held on the virtual Arena Go platform, where participants will be able to see the results of all teams.
The Artificial Intelligence Development Office of the Moscow Exchange is engaged in AI transformation of the group, optimizing both the classic processes of exchange business and internal tools for company employees. In 2025, the team introduced to the market the investment assistant FinGPT, capable of performing analysis and selection of securities, market sentiment analysis, and generation of a summary of current news. Exchange employees also have access to such tools for process optimization as the AI assistant MOEX Insight, the data processing model MOEX GPT, and the AI copilot for coding MOEX Code Agent.
