Political science students of GUU got acquainted with the work of the Federation Council and the history of this authority.

First-year students of the Department of Public Administration and Political Technologies of GUS, accompanied by associate professors of the department Elena Gaganova and Nikolai Sokolov, visited the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly) to see firsthand the practical activities and political work of the upper chamber of the Parliament of the Russian Federation.

Special attention during the excursion was given to the history of the formation and development of the SF FS, noting that it traces its “genealogy” from the State Council created at the beginning of the reign of Emperor Alexander I, which on April 23, 1906, was transformed into the upper chamber of the Russian parliament.

The guys also learned more about the multifaceted activities of the Federation Council senators: participation of parliamentarians in specialized commissions, work in the regions, internal rules, and administrative interaction of employees.

Students were acquainted with the procedure for adopting laws, the nuances of cooperation with the State Duma of the Russian Federation, participation in the formation of state bodies, features of interaction with the President of the Russian Federation, and work on other issues.

“On the tour, we learned about the history of the Federation Council, the role of its members, the establishment of the flags of regions in the hall, and even the work of the press service. It was very informative, allowed us to feel the importance of serving the people, and helped us understand who we can work with in the future,” shared the impressions of first-year GUE student Viktoriya Malchikova.
