Dozens of dancers from all over Moscow took part in the interregional historical student ball “White Acacia, Clusters of Fragrant Souls” of the State University of Management, organized by the Institute of Correspondence Education of the SUM (ICE SUM) and the Center of Secular Ballroom Culture “Golden Club”.

The event was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The director of IZO GUU, Sergey Lenshin, who gathered, greeted, emphasizing the importance of culture and the preservation of traditions for the country’s development.

“When we think back to 1945, we always say that during the Great Patriotic War it was precisely tradition, morality, and determination that led to Victory. It is culture and humanism that fundamentally underlie the fact that a person strives for peace. And we are confident that victory will be on Russia’s side.”

The head of the Center for Secular Ballroom Culture “Golden Club”, ballroom master of the “Golden Alliance” ballroom at the Bordjía Palace in Spain, Elena Zhukova, thanked the State University of Management for the warm reception.

“The GULAG trains the most cavalry among Moscow universities. Sometimes, there are even more young people in the classes than women. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the university administration that gave us the opportunity to engage here, improve our ballroom program, well, and, of course, hold balls.”

Opened the evening with the traditional polonaise. The entire program included three sections and more than thirty dances. The special atmosphere of the celebration was enhanced by the ball gowns and historical costumes of the participants.

Let us remind you that GUU regularly holds events aimed at preserving the traditional, historical, and cultural values of the Russian people: laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the GUU Memorial Stone on Victory Day, meetings with participants of the special military operation, annual historical balls, the contest “Family History.
