Tehran, May 14 /Xin Hua/ — Since Wednesday evening, Iran has allowed a number of Chinese vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with the protocol in force in the country. This was reported on Thursday by the Iranian semi-official news agency Fars, citing an informed source.

Iran has intensified control over the Strait of Hormuz starting from February 28, when it banned passage to ships belonging to or associated with Israel and the USA, in response to joint American-Israeli strikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic.

At the same time, the Fars message quotes the words of a high-ranking official of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, who stated that since Wednesday evening, the Strait of Hormuz has been crossed by 30 vessels.

How the official appointed by Iran for the transit route through the strait agreed to use various countries.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also noted on Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz is open for all commercial vessels on the condition that, while passing through it, they cooperate with the Iranian Navy.

Iran did not create any obstacles for the passage of ships through the strait, a diplomat noted, emphasizing that it was the United States that imposed the blockade.

A. Aragchi expressed hope that the situation would be resolved after the cessation of the “illegal” maritime blockade by Washington.
