Resolution dated May 12, 2026, No. 549
“We believe that such support will allow us to accelerate the fleet’s renewal, will contribute to preserving jobs, and, of course, will have a positive impact on supplying our citizens with a variety of fish products,” noted Mikhail Mishustin onmeeting of the Government on May 14.
Commentary
The mechanism of investment fishing quotas, the so-called quota by keel, has been in effect since 2017. Within its framework, enterprises are granted the right to extract aquatic bioresources upon investing in the construction of fishing fleet vessels at a Russian shipyard or infrastructure facilities in the coastal area.
The signed document has introduced amendments to the Government Decree of August 7, 2023 No. 1286.
