Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, as part of the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum,” took part in the business forum “Russia – Oman” and held a working meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev.

In recent years, Russian-Omani interaction has noticeably intensified. A significant impulse to development was given by the first visit in history of Sultan Oman Qaisam Ben Tarek Al Said to the Russian Federation for negotiations with President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. In 2026, we started quite positively – the volumes of mutual trade increased fourfold. There is potential for further development of relations in the areas of tourism, industry, energy, trade, agriculture, housing, and road construction.”Russia has unique experience in implementing large-scale infrastructure projects, and Oman has a strategic geographical position and an active role in international logistics. The combination of efforts will allow the creation of new growth points for the economies of both countries,” said Marat Khusnullin at the “Russia – Oman” business forum.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that Russia sees prospects in attracting investment in the construction industry, including in the production of building materials and equipment, as well as in the participation of Russian companies in Oman’s construction sector.

Separately, Marat Khusnullin stopped at the issue of developing international transport corridors. He expressed confidence that Russia and Oman have the potential to increase transit shipments along the “North-South” route by creating an end-to-end logistics service between the Russian Federation, the Sultanate of Oman, and other countries, which is especially relevant given the current international situation in the Middle East.

Regarding tourism, according to the words of the Deputy Prime Minister, the number of tourists from Oman to Russia has doubled by the end of 2025, and the demand of Russians to visit Omani resorts is growing.

At the business forum “Russia – Oman,” the head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, representatives of the authorities and business circles of the Sultanate of Oman also participated.

At a working meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjaev, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister noted the traditionally friendly and mutually beneficial nature of relations between the countries.

“Despite external challenges, overall turbulence in the world, and the sanction pressure on the Russian economy, the partnership between Russia and Uzbekistan demonstrates stable growth. Trade turnover is increasing. Today, 80 regions of Russia are involved in trade and economic interaction with Uzbekistan, with over 3,000 enterprises with Russian participation operating in the republic. There is noticeable positive dynamics in the volume of Russian investments in the Uzbek economy – it amounts to more than 4 trillion rubles,” said Marat Husnullin.

Special attention at the meeting was paid to transport infrastructure, which will create new opportunities for trade and logistics.
