At the beginning of summer in Lintao County, in the city of Dingxi, Gansu Province, purple-spotted peonies are blooming en masse — the best season for their viewing is arriving. Relying on this unique wealth, the county is increasing capabilities in flower cultivation and developing the “economy of flower appreciation,” as well as expanding the processing chain: peony tea and wine production is established, cultivation of medicinal peonies and other specialized directions are underway. The formed industrial chain, combining tourism, seedling cultivation, deep processing, cultural-tourist and creative products, promotes the revival of the village.
