Entrepreneurs who participated in the festival“Moscow Spring”, directed part of the funds raised towards the procurement of humanitarian aid for the fighters of the special military operation (SMO).

Festival events took place throughout the city from May 1 to May 11. In particular, visitors to the central site on Tverskoy Boulevard could embark on a culinary journey across Russia: in a gastronomic house, national dishes from the country’s regions were prepared.

From the help to the fighters to the defense of the Motherland

The Chechen cuisine “Daar” was presented by the SVO veteran Ruslan Atsaev. In his little house on Tverskoy Boulevard, one could try chepalgash with cheese and spinach and ingalsh with sweet pumpkin. It was precisely these dishes that became the most popular in the gastronomic part of the festival.

As a direct participant in the hostilities, Ruslan knows exactly that the primary necessity for servicemen at the front is rear support.

“What people send from the heart (homemade jam, children’s letters and drawings) morally helps the fighters who understand that they are remembered, awaited, and believed in their homeland, and that they will return victorious,” Ruslan shared.

Before joining the troops, he was gathering humanitarian aid, which included products for long-term storage. After returning home, the restaurateur continues this important mission, independently delivering parcels to the combat zone.

Support for the Buryat community

Buryat buuz — a true gastronomic brand of Russia, could also be tasted at Tverskoy Boulevard during the “Moscow Spring” festival. Damdin Dashiev, the owner of the local cuisine chain “Orda,” introduced the residents of the capital and tourists to new flavors.

He also regularly treats the fighters from his hometown with his usual and favorite dishes during treatment at the capital’s military hospital.

“We have an actively developing Buryat community association, together we do a lot of work: we collect and deliver humanitarian aid, many weave camouflage nets. Two employees of our company joined the special military operation, on the front there are four of my cousins,” said Damdin Dashiev..

Through them, he learns exactly what is currently needed in the combat zone. If previously volunteers and concerned residents collected food products, now all work is done according to specific requests. The restaurateur personally bought thermal cameras and drones, as well as delivered humanitarian parcels to the front line.

From the first days until the victory

At the “Moscow Spring” festival, the Yakut salad “Indigirka” made from muksun was presented, as well as “Ice cream from permafrost”. The dessert was prepared in front of the visitors using liquid nitrogen at a temperature of minus 200 degrees.

Unusual dishes helped the company “Azbuka Severa” increase its revenue, part of which its employees have been sending to the needs of the front since the beginning of the special military operation.

According to the founder of the company Danila Kozlov, they provide fighters with the most indispensable equipment, including technology that helps save lives. For example, over the past six months, uninterrupted power supplies and radios have been purchased upon direct request.

Among the humanitarian aid there were also clothes, food products, generators, communication devices, motorcycles, quad bikes, and even cars.

Participants of Moscow festivals receive places in trading chalets free of charge. The funds that entrepreneurs would have spent on rent are transferred to charitable foundations that help fighters. Many have been doing this since the first days of the special military operation. Small business owners often independently deliver humanitarian cargo to the front, assist volunteer organizations, and also send their own products to soldiers and residents of new regions.
