Vienna, May 13 /Sina/ — Global oil demand in 2026 will increase by a “healthy” 1.2 million barrels per day (b/d) year over year, which is lower than the previous estimate. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) stated this on Wednesday.

OPEC made the corresponding forecast in its latest monthly oil market report. According to the organization’s April forecast, global oil demand in 2026 will increase by 1.4 million b/d on an annual basis.

In 2027, global oil demand is estimated to increase by approximately 1.5 million barrels per second compared to last year, which represents a revision upward of about 200 thousand barrels per second compared to OPEC’s April forecast. –0–
