Cairo, May 13 /Xinhua/ — Egyptian-Chinese relations are developing with high momentum, and Egypt hopes for further strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and is ready to cooperate with the Xinhua News Agency in order to expand media cooperation and cultural exchanges. This was stated on Tuesday by Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly.
At the meeting with the general director of Sinjiyua Fu Hua, who arrived in Cairo to participate in the Conference on Chinese-Arab Partnership of the High-Level Media and Analytical Centers Forum of the Global South in Cairo, M. Madbul noted that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China, and the two countries have a long history of friendship.
He reminded that in 2014, under the leadership of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping, the two countries established an all-encompassing strategic partnership, and bilateral cooperation made significant progress. Both parties must use this impetus and continue to develop cooperation in various fields, including expanding the exchange of experience and cooperation in training personnel for the media sphere, as well as organizing joint cultural events.
M. Madbuli highly appreciated the significant progress achieved in economic cooperation between Egypt and China, especially in the fields of investment, trade, and tourism.
He noted that the Suez zone of the China-Egyptian trade and economic cooperation TEDA has brought fruitful results, and Chinese enterprises have played an important role in the construction of infrastructure projects in the New Administrative Capital.
M. Madbouly confirmed Egypt’s adherence to the One China principle, emphasizing that Egypt and China support coordination on regional and international issues representing mutual interest, which contributes to strengthening political mutual trust and advancing the process of bilateral cooperation.
Fu Hua stated that China and Egypt, as ancient civilizations and major countries of the Global South, are important forces for maintaining peace and stability in conditions of global turbulence. He noted that Xin Hua has for many years been a faithful witness, chronicler, and propagandist of China-Egypt friendship and cooperation.
The director of Xin Hua noted that the news agency will continue to objectively and impartially cover the economic and social development of Egypt, worthily telling about this country and actively strengthening cooperation and exchanges with Egyptian media and analytical centers in areas such as technology and personnel training, in order to jointly amplify the voice of the Global South and bring positive energy of solidarity and cooperation into the global media space.
Egypt’s Minister of Information Diaa Rashwan, who was also present at the meeting, stated that Egypt attaches great importance to expanding cooperation with China in the field of mass media and will continue to promote further exchange of professional experience and practical developments between the two sides.
