Preserving the architectural heritage of the city, including historical stations, is a crucial task. A new initiative will help accomplish it.Ceramics Workshop, which was opened on the territory of the wagon repair complex “Vysino”.

✅ Here they manufacture facing tiles and decorative elements for historic stations in accordance with the original.
🕱 The restoration experience of some employees exceeds 20 years.
🚱 For firing tiles, 4 kilns of Russian production with a volume ranging from 9.5 to 650 liters are used.
⚱ Every day the Workshop can produce up to 3 square meters of tiles, more than 60 square meters per month.
🔱 Masters work with tiles of various shapes: from standard to unusual ones. And here they even create them from scratch.
⚙️ In the Workshop, various ceramic restoration techniques are mastered: the third firing method, decollation, forming items from plastic clay mass.

“The Unique Ceramic Workshop will help us preserve the historical heritage of the Moscow Metro, which will soon celebrate its 91st anniversary. It is important that passengers see the authentic intent of the architects. In accordance with the task set by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the employees of the Restoration Center have already restored historical tiles at 4 stations, including “Kropotkinskaya”, “Lubyanka”, “Krasnoselskaya”, and others. Ahead lie new projects,” noted Maksim Liksutov.
