Moscow, May 12 /Xin Hua/ — The number of trips by Russians abroad for tourism purposes in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 15.4 percent compared to the same period in 2025. This was reported on Tuesday by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia /ATOR/.
The most popular tourist destinations for Russians in the first three months were Thailand (more than 725 thousand trips), China (more than 690 thousand trips), and Turkey (more than 650 thousand trips). The tourist flow to China grew by 53.7% year-on-year.
In total, from January to March 2026, Russians made more than 6 million trips abroad for all types of visits and all modes of transport. This is 8.14 percent more than in the same period of the previous year. –0–
