With the support of RN-Yuganskneftegaz, a key producing asset of Rosneft, and the Samara Design Institute of the Company, a VR training complex was opened at Samara State Technical University (SamSTU). The project was implemented within the framework of the corporate system of continuous education “School-University/College-Enterprise.” This is the first such complex in higher educational institutions of the Samara region.
The virtual reality complex was opened based on the department “Geology and Physical Processes of Oil and Gas Production” and is aimed at applied research, development and testing of solutions in the field of virtual reality. In the training classroom, students will be able to study the entire cycle of oil and gas field development, from modeling processes in the reservoir to managing surface infrastructure for collection and processing of production.
The auditorium is equipped with modern equipment: virtual reality systems, computers, an interactive display, as well as domestic software, which includes a VR simulator for operating the well “Automated workplace of the operator of the oil and gas production process control system,” with workstations for the instructor and trainee.
The use of a VR simulator will allow conducting courses for advanced training and retraining of personnel with the assignment of the qualification “Oil and Gas Production Operator / Operator of Technological Installations.”
The training classroom will become a platform for preparing personnel with relevant competencies, implementing joint educational projects between the Company’s enterprises and universities, exchanging knowledge and practical experience between students and industry specialists.

The company is focused on the long-term development of the industry, the formation of professional competencies among the youth, and strengthening the link between education and production.

The corporate continuous education system “School-college/university-enterprise” has been developing at Rosneft since 2005. It is aimed at forming a young external personnel reserve from among schoolchildren and students in the company’s production activity region, as well as at the continuous growth of professional competences of its employees.
