Jerusalem, May 12 /Xin Hua/ — The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Israel called on the country’s government to relocate US military planes from Ben-Gurion International Airport (Tel Aviv), warning that their presence seriously disrupts the work of the country’s civil aviation. This was reported on Monday by the Israeli business newspaper Calcalist and the Channel 12 News television channel.

This requirement was set out in a letter from the head of the UGA, Shmuel Zakai, the Minister of Transport of the State of Mirie Regev.

The minister’s representative in a conversation with the correspondent of Xin Hua confirmed the receipt of the letter and its content.

In a letter, Sh. Zakai stated that the airport has actually “turned into an American military airfield,” which negatively affects the activities of airlines and delays the return of foreign carriers to Israel.

He called to relocate American planes to Israeli Air Force bases and to Ramon Airport, located not far from the city of Eilat in the south of the country.
