China consistently opposes U.S. arms sales to Taiwan – Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Beijing, May 12 /Xinhua/ — China’s position against the sale of US weapons to the Chinese Taiwan region is consistent and clear, said the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Geng Shuang, on Tuesday.

The diplomat made such a statement at another press briefing, speaking about Chinese-American relations and the Taiwan issue.

According to him, during the state visit of US President Donald Trump to China, scheduled for May 13-15, the heads of the two states will hold an in-depth exchange of views on the most important issues concerning Chinese-American relations, as well as peace and development throughout the world.
