Kyiv, May 8 /Xin Hua/ — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Friday that Ukraine and Russia have reached agreements on a three-day ceasefire and prisoner exchange as part of the negotiation process mediated by the USA.
“We have received Russia’s consent to carry out a prisoner exchange in the format of 1000 for 1000. A ceasefire on May 9, 10, and 11 should also be established,” wrote V. Zelensky on Telegram.
He added that he instructed the Ukrainian command to promptly organize all the necessary arrangements for the exchange.
Separately, V. Zelensky signed a decree excluding the territory of Red Square in Moscow from the “plan for the use of Ukrainian weapons” during the parade dedicated to Victory Day on May 9.
According to the document published on the president’s website, the decision was made for “humanitarian purposes.”
